  • The gate itself is made from 100% recycled plastic and light in weight, which would otherwise have gone to landfill. Save the planet whilst fighting it!
  • Black plastic posts are 100% recycled plastic, the posts are 75 mm x 50 mm this fits to your door frame (or stone work). There is a grove rebated into the post, this grove has two continuous seals which seals to the front and the back of the gate, to give double protection.
  • The seals used comply with the requirements given in BS644, also the seals have been tested to BS7412 exceeding the dynamic standard for openings.
  • Standard heights are 40 cm, 60 cm and 80 cm, but I can make them any height required.
  • Simply to use – just slot the gate in place, it takes a matter of seconds.
  • Two sliding bolts lock the gate it in place which can be padlocked to stop theft and the water lifting the gate.
  • Black steel reinforcement bar on back just for that extra strength on any gate over 110 cm wide.
  • Bubble seal rebated along the bottom of the gate can be removed if needed to shape the bottom for any uneven ground surface then tap the seal back in.
  • Insurance approved.
  • Fitting kit (silicone, screws etc) and instructions included ( Fitting Instructions also below )
  • No maintenance and will last forever (can be painted if you wish)
  • Delivery within 10 days.

We can make it to any size you require, so please specify your size when ordering. Larger gates can be made to suit your requirements, and we are happy to provide a no-obligation quote.

Fitting is not included, but it is very simple. Instructions will be provided, and you are welcome to call with any queries.

The Ecofloodgate has been tested over a 16 hour period and proved to be 99.9% effective (a small damp patch appeared on the step, due to the stone being porous). Far more effective than the lightweight plastic and polystyrene gates that are being offered elsewhere at more than double the price.

Fitting instructions.

If you are fitting through the face of the frame you need to come in 12 mm from the outside edge of the post making sure you are drilling into the solid piece and not hitting the seals.
Countersink 3 holes top, middle and bottom of each post, the hole should be 15 mm big, big enough for the black blanking plugs that I have supplied, and deep enough so the 100 mm screws will come through the back of the frame about 40 mm.

If side fixing use the smaller screw and fix through the grove in each post, top, middle and bottom, being careful not to damage the seals and countersink screw heads.

Put the gate into the frame/posts and try it in place.

Make sure the posts are level and drill through the holes in the posts in to the stone or frame depending what you are fixing too with a 7 mm masonry drill bit suitable for the brown wall plugs that are supplied.

Its best to fit the gate dry first (meaning no silicone) to make sure all works OK and if you are happy take the gate out, unscrew the posts and apply plenty of silicone to back and bottom of the posts or frame, also anywhere that the post touches for extra protection.
Screw the posts up tight, insert the gate to check the gate runs freely.

For standard gates with bubble seal rebated into bottom of gate:
If you find the floor is uneven and the gate does not sit right, you can prize the bubble seal out of the bottom of the gate (do not pull it out as this may tear it) best to use a small screw driver and prize it out from one end..
The bottom of the gate can now be shaped to suit the ground, (using basic joinery tools, plane etc)
If the grove is no longer deep enough for the seal you can run a hand saw along grove to make deeper.
When the bottom of the gate fits snugly you can reapply the seal using a hammer tapping gently.

For a full unit type gate:
Get the bottom rail level by using packing if need be.
Depending on the length of the bottom rail you must fix with a series of screw, standard size would have 3 screws for the bottom rail.
Once you feel happy that its level drill the holes for the wall plugs, in the side post with the gate in the frame making sure the gate runs freely.
Screw the gate dry to the wall and then remove the gate and drill for the bottom rail in the grove careful not to damage seals.
Once they have been drilled you can then remove the frame and apply plenty of silicone to the frame face that touches any surface ie the bottom of the bottom rail and back or sides of the uprights.
Then place the frame back in place carefully and re screw up nice and tight, clean off any surplus silicone that is squeezed out.
Apply more silicone around the frame if needed.

Best wishes and thank you for the work!

John Paul
